My CSUSB Work Background

I started out at CSUSB as a Graduate Student in 1997. I originally was hired on as an employee in April 2000 as Equipment Systems Specialist working for the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences. I reported to Rob Garcia, who later became my husband and now serves as Union President for this chapter. I currently work for the Department of Nursing, as well as the Department of Kinesiology.

My Union Background

I began serving as a steward in 2005, and then sometime in 2006 our secretary went on maternity leave. The President, Rich McGee, appointed me as new the secretary. As of April 2007, I am now the Chapter Chief Steward. Together with my husband and the new e-board, we hope to make a difference for the union at CSUSB.

I look forward of being of service to the campus community and believe that the union is necessary to keep the staff of units 2, 5, 7 and 9 informed of their rights.
